Submit to the WILDsound Festival Today:

Thank you for the very helpful feedback on my screenplays.

Submit to the Festival via FilmFreeway:

We have created a hybrid festival with 4 tiers to enhance your film and your festival experience. All accepted films receive all four tier options:
Tier #1 – Your film plays at a public film festival event where the audience will record their comments/reactions to your film on their camera or phone, then we edit them and send you a promotional video. No matter what you will receive a promotional video of your film of people commenting on your film.
Tier #2 (optional) – Your film plays on the Film Festival streaming service for 30 hours and invite a select industry audience to watch it. With this system, some films have already received a distribution deal as many platforms are looking for solid feature and short documentaries. We can not guarantee anything of course but this has been very helpful to many in the past. (see testimonials below)
Then (Tier #3) we will send you a list of questions to answer for our blog interview that will promote you and your film. Then after that (Tier #4) we will set up a podcast interview on our popular ITunes show where will we chat with you about the process of how the film was made.
A festival designed to showcase the best of new environmentally themed films (shorts, features) and screenplays (shorts, features, TV pilots) from around the world. We accept any genre (animation, comedy, experimental, horror etc.) as long as it has an underlying environmental thematic. We seek to advance public understanding of the environment through the power of film and storytelling; which is why this festival has been created.
Awards & Prizes
We will perform a winning Environmental screenplay(s) at our festival every single month using professional actors. Then we send the writer a video of the performance reading.
We will showcase a festival every month using our flagship FEEDBACK Film Festival format. All festival dates are private screenings with the same Audience FEEDBACK videos made for the short & feature films, and recorded script readings performed by professional actors for the screenplays. This is our way of showing community over distance so everyone around the world can experience our Audience Feedback videos.

Get to know filmmaker Madison Hubler:
What motivated you to make this film?
I have always loved dragons since I was a little girl. That is what originally drew me to the realm of fantasy, and when I discovered Daenerys Targaryen from Game of Thrones, my world shifted. It was the equivalent of a comic book kid seeing his favorite superhero come to life on screen. I had an epiphany: That is the kind of character I want to play. Being a ‘dragon queen’ became a self-proclaimed part of my identity, and it shifted the way I moved through the world. It gave me confidence and strength- to put myself out there and claim my place. I felt this creative fire inside me, pushing me to write a story that would bring that dream to life. When the idea came to flip a well-known trope on its head, nothing could stop me. All this to say, the story came from deep within my soul. I created it for myself, and everything that comes after is just the cherry on top to one of the best things I’ve done in my life.
From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The film took about one year to make. The writing and filming process went by pretty quickly. I had a very clear vision going in and knew exactly what story I wanted to tell. The bulk of the time was spent with the editor, watching over his shoulder, nit-picking each second, and then working up the courage to actually show it to people when it was finished.
How would you describe your film in two words!?
Fun and unexpected!

Ella and her friends take a weekend getaway to rural Australia to disconnect from their devices and reconnect with one another. However, an evil presence has other plans for them.

Review by Julie Sheppard:
This riveting short, Sentient, taps into the concept that obsession with social media can cause people to mute their sentience, or ability to experience true human emotions and experiences.
The plot recounts a story about close friends launching into a getaway weekend as painful losses and truths are explored, with social media addiction being much of the culprit. As in classic horror, the lead protagonist is like the untouched virgin as she is “not on social media” and therefore is “not a threat” and is protected from harm.
The four main performers do justice to their places in the narrative, all delivering text in believable, conversational style, which serves as a foil to a zombie-like presence of characters once “infected” by AI. The pristine, modern home for the weekend escape is a perfect setting for this piece and makes the convincing gore seem even more graphic. The expert camera work helps create suspense and intensify the drama, as do the fitting musical choices, notably sombre keyboard for sad scenes and heavy rock during the wild party scene.
A viewer can glean a strong message of warning as the credits role. We sentient beings must steer clear of the dangers of sacrificing human connection to social media fixation, or risk losing those closest to us.
