This festival includes so much for the creators and is all about getting the word out about their work. It was an honor to be a part of the festival, and they made me feel like an A-lister right off the bat. Would highly recommend!

Decided to change his name when he began acting because there was already a Michael Douglas in movies and a Mike Douglas in broadcasting. While he uses a stage name, he has never legally changed his name to Michael Keaton.

[on his decision not to reprise his role as Batman in Batman Forever (1995)] I was waiting in line for another movie and just kind of poked my head in . . . watched about 10 minutes. I saw enough to know that I made the right decision.

I don’t do method acting. If I play a farmer I’m not gonna spend 3 weeks on a chicken farm. That’s a bit too much for me. For Minoes (in which she played a cat in a woman’s body) I didn’t spend 3 weeks in a cat pound.

To me, that’s not the most difficult thing. To transform. I don’t really see it happen. I don’t have the feeling I am transforming, really. I don’t believe you can get into somebody’s character but more that somebody comes in you. You just use yourself. In everything I play, I feel like it is me. I just say different things on different times and look different.

I think there’s an intelligence behind her lack of obviousness. In a way, she has more power that way, and if she had survived [giving] birth, she would have gone to become quite an incredible queen. (on Jane Seymour)
Yellow Dress, 4min., UK Directed by Raph Isadora Seymour What is she doing? Trying to make a garden? Trying to make something…and who or what is trying to stop her? Crude stop-motion makes startling and poetic images and tells a story of resilience and the desire for happiness for both the hero and the villain of the piece.
Get to know the filmmaker:
What motivated you to make this film?
I wrote a poem and decided to animate it. My friend and I had gone to Peckham Common to feed the crows. I liked their movements and cunning and was also interested in their sinister connotations and their innocence.
From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
The idea came to me in 2022 and I was finished in early 2024.
How would you describe your film in two words!?
Puppet Poem.
What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
The biggest obstacle in making the project was balancing my time. Working a job and having other creative projects, working in stops and starts and still maintaining a creative flow however I feel this alongside the stopwork animation and patchwork effects may have benefited the style of the piece.
