Robbie Kay
Born: September 13, 1995 in Lymington, Hampshire, England, UK
Robbie’s first film was The Illusionist with Edward Norton. He played a 6-year-old boy but the scenes did not make the final cut. Robbie also played the younger version of Ralph Fiennes “Harry” in In Bruges. His scenes did not make it into the movie but can be seen in the deleted scenes section of the DVD.
To portray an iconic character has been brilliant in itself, and to be able to do that on a show like ‘Once Upon a Time’ enhances that because the show puts a spin on characters and makes them very different and puts core values that are very different that aren’t in the original fairy tales a lot of people relate to.
Jennifer Hudson
Born: September 12, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, USA
Jennifer Hudson is a Grammy Award-winning recording artist, Academy Award-winning actress and best-selling author. Bright and booming talent Hudson is a perfect example of how NOT winning the title of American Idol (2002) can actually be a boon to your career and not necessarily the end of a childhood dream.
I never gave up hope of playing “Effie”. They’d talk to me and then look at other people and then come back to me… but I always had the faith. I had to separate myself from the process and not think about it too much or I’d go crazy. – regarding her role in Dreamgirls (2006).

I’ve always been a minimalist. It was Bogart who once said, “If you think the right thoughts, the camera will pick it up.” The most important thing in the face is the eyes, and if you can make the eyes talk, you’re halfway there.

Hans Zimmer

When you write a theme one of the things you want to do is you want to see how much life it really has. How many possibilities there are. Can it speak to you in joy? Can it speak to you in sorrow? Can it be love? Can it be hate? Can you say all these things with just a few notes? That’s the thing when you figure out if a tune is any good or not. Does it have more than one shallow little character? Does it have just one little thing to tell you. Can it get underneath there under your skin? Can it get dark? Can it talk about the death of a father or something like that.
[on his score for The Lion King (1994)] The main emphasis to me was how we were going to get, in a children’s movie, to the idea that a father dies and make it an emotional yet not horrifying experience but make it something that children might want to start asking some questions about. It’s very simple. It’s my point of view because my dad dropped dead when I was six and I had nobody to talk to about it. So, it’s a very personal sort of thing.

You’re in a movie because you’re appealing and because you represent the aspiration, the fantasy, the ideal. I resisted that but, when you’re in the business, when you’re making a film, one doesn’t have to take it all too seriously. We’re not curing cancer . . . it’s entertainment. We want to get people into theatres.

My real fear playing Ralphie in The Sopranos was that I would be typescast. Luckily, like Jimmy Gandolfini, I was able to get plenty of other work – Bad Boys 2 and Daredevil in particular. But in a way, Ralphie encouraged me to do more, to ensure he didn’t define me. That’s why I did Frankie & Johnny on Broadway and, to be honest, it’s why I took the role in The Handler – to show my fanbase that there’s more to me that just that nutcase, Ralphie.

I haven’t had a lot of ‘Games Of Thrones’ groupies. The fans seem to be really nice. They don’t seem that invasive.

I just always loved comedy and I really wanted to be good at it. And it was heartbreaking, ’cause I started and I wasn’t good at it. I was only 17-years-old, so I had a lot to learn about life in general. But I just kept on trying. I was young enough and stupid enough and I had no other choice. I had nothing else I was good at.
