An Alumni of Otis College of Art and Design with a BFA in fashion design, having worked with mentors for Sean John, GamePro, La Blanca, Rozae Nichols, Hana Mae went on to design for Harley Davidson, Juicy Couture, Mossimo. She then began her own jewelry line in 2009; Hanamahn (“just one” in Korean). And in 2010 Hana Mae expanded into apparel and outerwear. She says her designs have the intention of “dare to inspire” rather than to the trends that come and go so quickly. The one of a kind pieces have been worn by collectors, musicians, actors and business creatives.

Died: July 19, 2014 (age 21) in Houston, Texas, USA

On July 19, 2014, McCole Bartusiak was found dead in her apartment behind her parents’ Houston home. Her mother told CNN and the Associated Press that the actress was found by her boyfriend, sitting up in her bed; she began CPR on her daughter before paramedics arrived, who then worked “for 45 minutes” to no avail. Helen McCole Bartusiak said Skye “had been healthy and did not drink or do drugs”, and had recently been suffering from epileptic seizures and that this likely played a role in her death.

I played the Diane Keaton role in that. So getting to work for him was such a dream come true, and I never thought it could happen that early in my career. That was just an amazing role and a great experience.

You get a five-minute time slot for a part you’ve spent six hours or more studying for or thinking about, and you get into these rooms full of people who barely make eye contact. They’re bored and frustrated that they can’t find the right person, energy that is instantly crushing and which makes it hard to shine. Going through that process over and over, you become so wounded and guarded that it’s impossible to give you best stuff away. That’s why I will never forget what David Lynch did for me. When he cast me in Mulholland Drive (2001), I was literally at the lowest place, and yet he managed to pull away all those masks.
