This short “Heart Worn Out & Against The Wall” is a short movie about loneliness and fear. Fear of losing a loved one, of being superficial, of being unlovable. About the struggles of filling a void that can never be filled and mannerisms used to cope with these feelings. About wanting affection but not being able to deal with human interactions. About feeling disconnected, but never allowing this to be seen, and thus, constantly having to deal with the inauthenticity.

Accepted films get their film screened at 2 festivals. The Audience Feedback Festival where you will receive a video of people’s reactions to your film. (Great asset to promote your movie). Plus, the Film Festival Streaming Service Festival where it will be seen by people in the industry and film fans.

Plus, each filmmaker gets the opportunity to do two interviews to further promote them and their work. A blog interview, and a podcast interview on the Film Festival ITunes show.

Olivia arrives to take care of her ailing grandmother. Olivia and grandma share a dry, cynical sense of humor. Mom leaves a voicemail telling them that she will be home soon and to not drink or smoke. Granny and Olivia ignore Mom and drink whisky and smoke weed until they take a nap. When they wake up, Granny begs Olivia to kill her before mom gets back. Olivia hesitates but decides to grind pills to overdose granny. Granny gives Olivia her rings as a thank you. Mom comes home, takes the poison concoction out of Olivia’s hands and unknowingly kills granny.

1. What motivated you to make this film?
Growing up in a family of engineers, Rodney’s journey struck a chord with me. It felt like a story I could relate to on a personal level. When Rodney gave me his blessing to share his story, it motivated me to develop it into a film told from an honest and authentic perspective.

2. From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
It took a total of 3 years.

3. How would you describe your film in two words!?
Organizational silence.

4. What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Finding a way to build the mission control room.

5. What were your initial reactions when watching the audience talking about your film in the feedback video?

In a high school filmmaking class, at 18 years old.

The Incredibles.

Yes! I’m currently working on two new proof of concept projects that will be shooting later this year.
