Such an incredible opportunity and great feedback!
I would highly recommend female filmmakers to submit to this festival. Lots of hugely valuable publicity opportunities built into the festival experience. The staff at FEEDBACK Female Film Festival clearly care about what they do and the communication has been really clear and thoughtful. Very admirable that there is a number of these festivals taking place throughout the year.

Law’s World: Lipstick Bandit, 13min., USA Directed by Law Artis “A sassy pansexual sex blogger prepares for a high-profile house tour, but his plans are derailed by his narcissistic bestie, determined to retrieve something she claims is irreplaceable.”
I grew up watching so many tv shows and as a performer I wanted to create something I’ve never seen. I wanted to mix my love of reality tv, web series, and film into my own version of a proof of concept film for my web film series I wrote. It;s time for a plus size, poc, to lead a comedy film series and why not me!
From the idea to the finished product, how long did it take for you to make this film?
This was a one year process. I am a graduate of School of Visual Arts as a Film Directing Grad Program. I wrote the script in the summer of 2024, and started preproduction winter of 2024, and was in post production by early spring 2025.
How would you describe your film in two words!?
Fabulously Iconic.
What was the biggest obstacle you faced in completing this film?
Biggest obstacle for any indie filmmaker/creative; where is the money coming from?
FIELD REPORT | FLACK FAMILY FARM, 15min., USA Directed by Travis Limoge Nestled in the hills of Enosburg Falls, Vermont Flack Family Farm has been contributing to the vibrance of their community through their symbiotic work in the soil for nearly a half a century.
sustain, 5min., Austria Directed by Peter Schakl sustAIn is the Idea to combine sustainibility and artificial intelligence. Openess is to show generally ideas of sustainibility.
Kazbegi, 5min., Slovakia Directed by Yakiv Antypenko Set to a traditional folk song recorded live at a Georgian wedding, this short documentary immerses viewers in the natural and cultural rhythm of the Kazbegi region. With no narration, the film focuses on the detailed sound design and visual atmosphere — where every insect and breeze plays like an instrument in a living orchestra.
Portrait of a Seaweed Farmer: Ana Borrero, PhD, 10min., USA Directed by Jeff Siebert Portrait of a Seaweed Farmer: Ana Borrero, PhD, follows a Spanish marine scientist who leaves behind a high-stress academic career to cultivate something far more sustainable—seaweed and a life in balance. Now working in coastal Norway, Ana channels her scientific expertise into growing an industry poised to combat climate change through regenerative farming. With humor, heart, and humility, Ana reflects on her journey from a microscope-loving child to working mother of two, driven by both environmental urgency and a desire to be present for her young family. A deeply personal look at how one woman found meaning—and a future—beneath the surface.
Operation Wolf Foster, 18min., USA Directed by Justin Grubb Once nearly extinct, the critically endangered Mexican wolf is making a comeback – thanks to a bold conservation effort that places captive-born pups into wild dens. Operation Wolf Foster takes you inside this high-stakes recovery program, following the delicate journey of newborn wolves as they’re flown across the country and carefully introduced into the wild, offering hope for the species’ future.
Graf Anthony created and directed SustAIn, a film about combining sustainability with A.I. The concept is a sound one of how we, as a species, can collaborate with A.I. to reimagine discarded objects and breathe new life into them. Shackle Peter did the chair design within the film and the chair was definitely multifunctional and artistic.
There is a seamlessness to the film’s flow due to it being generated by A.I. One of the things I really liked was text elements that were added, it helped unify the story being told. The addition of sound effects and the voice over was very clever and added a nice narrative to what was happening on screen. I only wish the voice over was done in a softly spoken voice instead of the whisper.
What really shines throughout the film is the score provided by Graf Anthony under the pseudonym CLMTN. The title song “World is on Fire” evokes such emotion and pairs perfectly with this film and its message.

A costume designer is a person who designs costumes for a film. The role of the costume designer is to create the characters and balance the scenes with texture and colour, etc.
Matthew Toffolo: You have worked on over 60 films as a Costume Designer, plus over 24 films as a Makeup Artist in just the last 9 years! You’ve been busy. Is there a film or two that stand out for you that you’re most proud of?
Ginger Martini: I’m proud of the majority of them. I’ve been quite lucky, every script that has come my way, I’ve quite enjoyed working on. I’d say Fall, Portrait of a Serial Monogamist, At Home by Myself… with You, BackCountry and Air Balloon Circus are some of the most visually exciting projects. I love working on the CityLife projects as well, with the Remix project, those films always hold a special place in my heart.
PHOTO for Portrait of a Serial Monogamist:
Matthew: You seem to be the go-to person when dealing with tight budgets. Your task is sometimes impossible. What’s your secret to do costumes for an entire cast with little money?
Ginger: Some of them were tight budgets in the beginning years, but for the most part, I get what I need to make it look proper. Realistic goals is key. I draw up a reasonable budget and submit it to my producers and pm at the start. They usually find a way to make it work.
Matthew: You started out doing short films and you continue to do them. What do you enjoy about the short film experience?
Ginger: All about the script, I’m a sucker for an interesting story whether it’s short or long format.
Matthew: What type of film would you love to do costumes for that you haven’t done yet?
Ginger: In sept/oct I designed some costumes for the band XO-IQ on Nickelodeon’s Make It Pop, that was probably my favourite version of designing, anything along those lines would be where I’d like to head from now on, lots of color and fun fabrics. They let me be as creative as I wanted and the results are really cool : )
Matthew: What film have you seen the most times in your life?
Ginger: Oddly enough, The Perfect Storm with George Clooney and Mark Walberg. It’s on tv alllll the time and any time I come across it, I’ll stop what I’m doing and watch the entire thing.
Matthew: What makes a great makeup artist?
Ginger: Talent and personality
Matthew: What are you looking for in a director when you start a production?
Ginger: We need to be on the same page creatively and they need to be someone I can easily communicate with.
Matthew: Does working on big budget Hollywood productions that have a large costume department appeal to you?
Ginger: Of Course : )
Matthew: What advice to you have for high school or university students who are looking to work in costumes or makeup in the movie industry?
Ginger: It’s not as easy as it looks on tv. The hours are beyond gruelling and at first the money is non existent. But keep at it. Be nice to everyone, cuz you never know where your next job is coming from and who that Production Assisant will be later (maybe your next Production Manager) and only work for free for a little bit. Then bill what you’re worth and if you are good at it, the money will come. Make sure you like your scripts and it’s easier to live with them 24/7 for months on end. Take advice from people who are successful in the department you want to be in, and learn to take criticisms well and not personally.
