Denial Trailer: Rachel Weisz Defends the Holocaust’s Existence in a Court of Law
Watch the Trailer of DENIAL:
In a piece of unfortunately resonant cinema, Denial pits Rachel Weisz against a man who substitutes lies as truth, evidence be damned. The movie stars Weisz as author Deborah E. Lipstadt, who is sued for libel when she calls out the views of Holocaust-denier David Irving (Timothy Spall). Based on real events, Denial adapts Lipstadt’s History on Trial: My Day in Court with a Holocaust Denier. In both the movie and actual history, Irving files in English court, where the burden of proof lies with the defendant; Lipstadt must consequently prove that the Holocaust happened in order to win her case. Denial, which was directed by Mick Jackson and written by David Hare, hits theaters September 30. Check out the film’s first trailer, if only for Weisz’s New Yawk accent, above.

QUOTES:
[on Heaven’s Gate (1980)] Michael [Cimino] really wanted to make a perfect film. He could have made this film for much less. He overdid it; he overcomplicated it. But they should not have killed him for it.
We had a terrible situation on “Close Encounters”, because they wanted to fire me several times. The only reason they didn’t was because they didn’t have a replacement who could take over.

Everybody’s at war with different things…I’m at war with my own heart sometimes”. In Vibe interview 2/96
Reality is wrong. Dreams are for real.
The only thing that comes to a sleeping man is dreams.
The reason why I could get into acting was because it takes nothing to get out of who I am and go into somebody else.
I’m not saying I’m gonna change the world, but I guarantee that I will spark the brain that will change the world.
I swear, if they hadn’t tried to ruin me, I never would have ended up being a rapper. I probably would have been a preacher or something.
If you walked by a street and you was walking on the concrete and you saw a rose growing from the concrete, even if it had messed up petals and it was a little to the side you would marvel at just seeing a rose grow through concrete. So why is it that when you see some ghetto kid grow out of the dirtiest circumstance and he can talk and he can sit across the room and make you cry, make you laugh, all you can talk about is my dirty rose, my dirty stems and how I am leaning crooked to the side, you can’t even see that I’ve come up from out of that
