Born: August 29, 1915 in Stockholm, Sweden
Died: August 29, 1982 (age 67) in Chelsea, London, England, UK

3 TIME Oscar Winner for Best Actress: Murder on the Orient Express (1974), Anastasia (1956), Gaslight (1944)

The best way to keep young is to keep going in whatever it is that keeps you going. With me that’s work, and a lot of it. And when a job is finished, relax and have fun.

Happy Birthday: Rebecca De Mornay

rebeccademornay.jpgRebecca De Mornay

Born: August 29, 1959 in Santa Rosa, California, USA

I feel a terrifically painful disturbance in the natural law of things between men and women that must be balanced in the next few thousand years. What has been done in the name of holding up masculine energy as God and feminine energy as subservient has really wiped out everything.

Happy Birthday: Lea Michele

Born: August 29, 1986 in The Bronx, New York City, New York, USA

When I first heard those references used towards me, I found it incredibly hurtful. I’m a girl who knows what she wants. I am outspoken. I am strong and I think that sometimes a strong woman with an opinion is called a diva. If a man is strong and opinionated, he’s considered powerful, but if you’re a woman, it’s regarded negatively.

Happy Birthday: Carla Gugino

carlagugino.jpgCarla Gugino

Born: August 29, 1971 in Sarasota, Florida, USA

Boyfriend is writer/director Sebastian Gutierrez, with whom she has worked on her TV series Karen Sisco (2003) and Rise: Blood Hunter (2007).

I like being the lead but I like being in an ensemble. There are different challenges and dilemmas with both. If you’re carrying a film, there’s a certain weight, but there are a lot of scenes to explore the character. When you’re in an ensemble, you have to convey the entire character in a limited number of scenes.
